KOKO YA SETSWANA VS NANDOS

As they walked by, I thought how beautiful they looked. In fact, I had no memory of seeing anything so pure in my life. They laughed, had no designer clothes on, no genuine leather shoes on and most definitely no condition of how it should all be. I am talking about two lovers I saw recently in a place west of Molepolole called Kotolaname. It seemed rural but it still had most of the basic necessities.

That said; it made me wonder about my life and my belief in the ideology of love. Lerato la mmannete! You see, most of the romantic love I have felt in my life, was based on the love that I had seen on television watching the Bold and The Beautiful. I am one of ninety percent of urbanites with that life. It is sad but true. I wonder if it would have been different if I had been in a rural place. Of course it would differ, but the question is how? Would I expect less or more of him? Would our sex be better or worse than urban sex? I know sex is sex, but some sex is conditioned. You see it on television, outdoor billboards and even on children’s cartoons. Whether you admit it or not, the way you express your love is largely determined by the media. Se se utwisa bothoko!

Ka go rialo, it made me want to find him, monna wame wa ko dikgaolong. Ke bata yo o ta a reng kere ‘I love you’ a bo a sa thaloganye. A man who believes Mother Nature determines how we love each other, one who gets clues from the wild when it comes to love making. I know you are getting lovely thoughts right now. That is because media conditioning has killed us sexually, with all this foreplay nonsense. When have you ever seen a cow getting foreplay? The reason we cannot enjoy sex without too much effort is because we eat all the wrong foods. Most genetically modified foods had unnatural sex to come about, no wonder we need unnatural things to also come.

I could talk forever about these things and beat about the bush but the question on my tongue is, is rural love better than urban love? How so? I need to know before I get too urban!
